Easter chick egg cosy

Materials:
Yarn : some scrap of SMC Catania cotton (1.75 oz = 137 yds). Ochre and green
Some scrap of SMC Catania Grande cotton (1.75oz=68 yds) Red
Some scrap of SMC Catania Grande cotton (1.75oz=68 yds) Red
Hook size : 6 mm
Tappistery needle
Wooden beads brown 6 mm
Wooden beads brown 6 mm
Stitches ( us):
Ch = Chain
Sl st = slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Sts = stitches.
Instructions:
Body:
Use cotton ( 1.75oz=137 yds) and work with double yarn. (ochre and green)

R 1 : ch 22, close ring with sl st
R 2 and 3 : ch 2 , dc in each st. End with sl st.
R 4 : ch 1 sc in each st. End with sl st.
R 5, 6, 7 : ch 1, 4 sc, 4 hdc, 6 dc, 4 hdc, 4 sc end with sl st.
Fold this part and start at tail end , close top with sl st. Finish of and weave in the ends
Comb:
Use red cotton ( 1.75oz=68 yds) and work with single yarn.
Ch 7 and into ch4 : dc.
Into ch3 : sc and ch2
Into ch2 : dc
Into ch1 : sc, ch 2 , dc , sc.
Finish off.
Beak:
Use ochre cotton (1.75oz = 137 yds) and work with double yarn
Use ochre cotton (1.75oz = 137 yds) and work with double yarn
Ch 6, sc into ch4.
Into ch3 : sc
Into ch2 : hdc
Into ch1 : hdc and finish off.
Finish:
Attach comb and beak with some stitches in the right place ( see picture).
Attach wooden beads for eyes.
Make this chick with different colors and you can enjoy the easter brunch table.
Change the amount of stitches or change hook size to fit the right size of your eggs.
