Egg cosy : Hat with pigtails

Materials:

Yarn : some scrap of SMC Catania cotton (1.75 oz = 137 yds).
Hook size  : 6 mm

Tappistery needle and scissors

Stitches ( US):

Ch = Chain

Sl st = slip stitch

Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet

Sts = stitches.

 

Instructions:

Use cotton ( 1.75oz=137 yds) and work with 2 different colors of yarn.
 

R 1 : ch 20, close ring with sl st

R 2 : ch 1 , sc in each st, end with sl st. (20 sts)
R 3 : ch 1, * 4 sc , skip 1 stitch, repeat from *,  end with sl st. (16 sts)
R 4 : ch 1 , sc in each st, end with sl st. (16 sts)

R 5 : ch 1, * 3 sc , skip 1 stitch, repeat from *,  end with sl st. (12 sts)
R 6 : ch 1 , sc in each st, end with sl st. (12 sts)
R 7 : ch 1, * 2 sc , skip 1 stitch, repeat from *,  end with sl st. (8 sts)
R 8 : ch 1, * 1 sc , skip 1 stitch, repeat from *,  fastens off the yarn and close the remaining (4) stitches together

Ears :  2 x
Take 2 colors of coton.
Chain 6, sl st into ch4.
Dc into ch3.
Sl st. into ch1. Finish off.

Pigtails : 2 x
Work with 4 threads of yarn  measure about 22 inches.
Chain 8. Finish off.

Finish:

Attach ears and pigtails with some stitches in the right place ( see picture).
 

Make some egg cosies with different colors and you can enjoy the easter brunch table.

 

Change the amount of stitches  or change hook  size to fit the right size of your eggs.
